Twittering for Good

Check out CGAP’s latest on the power of Twitter to “change the world with 140 characters”:

Twitter can be a powerful communication tool when people need instant information or want to inspire others to immediate action.

For example, I recently heard a radio story about people in Mexican border towns using Twitter to warn one another about outbreaks of violence and areas to avoid. Cell phones seem to be the main method of delivery.

Personally, I’m not yet a twitterer. It seems to me to be too much information too often.

Do you Twitter? Is it useful or does it drive you to distraction?
